Process
Hiring Yee-Haw
»FAQs
If there's one question we get on a daily basis, it's got to be, "How do ya'll do that?" Letterpress posters, prints, and fine art all require a step-by-step process to go from an idea in our head (or your noggin) to a hang-on-the-wall finished product.

Q: Do you have a rate sheet? |
A: Since all of our work is full custom, we don't have a comprehensive rate sheet. Please contact us directly for an estimate. |
Q: What is your minimum order? |
A: We have a minimum order of 250 for most items including posters. For CD cover production, we require a 1000 item minimum order. Postcards or Dodgers, minimum order is 500. Invitations, announcements, fans; minimum order is 100 per item. |
Q: Do you have an internship program? |
A: We usually have a printmaking or graphic design intern working at the shop. The internship is unpaid but there are many grants available to students who want to apprentice at shops like ours. It is up to the student to apply for such grants. We request a full time commitment and usually take senior undergrads or grad students. See Working at Yee-Haw for more info and on how to apply.

Q: Can computer design be letterpressed? Do you do printing for other designers? |
A: If the design is appropriate for letterpress printing we can print it. We primarily print original Yee-Haw work but if we have press time open we do take on outside printing work for other designers. Call for an estimate. |
Q: What is your turnaround time? |
A: It varies. We can usually turn a small job (200-500 pieces) around in 3 weeks from the day we have your 50% deposit and final text in hand. If you need it quicker than 3 weeks, ask us if it is possible. If it's not a busy time or if you don't mind paying a rush fee we can turnaround faster. Also keep in mind that the majority of our letterpress work is hand-printed, so if you need a large quantity it will take more time than smaller jobs. Logo design and digital design to offset printing may take longer depending on the sketch & approval process. |
Q: What kind of paper can you print on? |
A: We can print on just about any kind of paper from card stock to handmade papers. |
Q: What is the largest size you can print? |
A: For multicolor production editions the largest continuous impression is about 17"x23". That length can be extended with an additional press run to 27"x17". That is not a continuous impression and there are additional fees for the extra press run. We also have up to a 4'x9.5' paper capability for fine art prints. |
Q: Do you do wedding invitations? What kind of information do I need to provide to you to get a quote on wedding invitations? |
A: Yes, we design plenty of invitations, announcements, and small hand-printed items including: save the date cards, invitations, invite envelopes, response cards & envelopes, thank you notes, programs, maps, place cards, old-fashioned souvenir fans on a wooden stick, favor bags/packaging.· |
All wedding ephemera is custom designed for you. To get a quote we need to know which items you want to order, how many of each, how many colors, etc. The minimum order per item is 100 and in increments of 25 above that. We require a 50% nonrefundable deposit prior to starting any wedding project with the balance due upon completion. |
